Select database files for back up from a database icon on a virtual server. If a virtual server contains a database application such as Microsoft SQL Server or Exchange Server, use the appropriate Backup Exec database agent to perform the backup operations; otherwise, only the file system is backed up, not the database files.
To back up database files in a Veritas cluster
-
In the Backup Selections pane, expand the domain that contains the cluster, then expand the virtual server that contains the database files, and then select the databases.
-
Set database-specific defaults. Refer to the specific Backup Exec database agent documentation for details on how to set backup defaults for the database.
-
If you created a device pool for the cluster, select it as the default destination device so that jobs can restart on the failover node if failover occurs.
