Including specific directories in an NDMP backup selection
When you create a backup job to back up NDMP resources, you can select specific directories to include in the backup job. However, you cannot include specific files in an NDMP backup selection.
To include specific directories in an NDMP backup selection

On the navigation bar, click the arrow next to Backup.

Click New Backup Job.

Select the resource that contains the directories you want to include in the backup selection

Click Include/Exclude.

In Resource type, verify that NDMP is selected.

In NDMP type, verify that the type of NDMP provider that you use is selected.
If you do not use NetApp/IBM/Fujitsu or EMC, select Other. After you select Other, an option appears that lets you select a specific provider.

In Type, click Include.

Do one of the following:
If you selected NetApp/IBM/Fujitsu in the NDMP type field

In the Resources pane, navigate to the directory you want to include.

If you want to select multiple directories, Symantec recommends that you select them from the Resources pane instead of typing the names of the directories.

In Path, type the directory you want to include.

If you selected EMC in the NDMP type field
|
In Path, type the directory you want to include.
|
If you selected Other in the NDMP type field
|
Do the following:

In Select an NDMP provider, select the provider you use.

Under NDMP selection settings, enter the volume and path to the directory you want to include.

In Value, enter the appropriate values for any variables that can be changed.

To include additional directories in the backup selection

Click Apply, and then enter the additional directories that you want to include.

To complete this procedure

Click OK.
