Performing disaster recovery of a deduplication storage folder

If a disaster occurs on the media server where a deduplication storage folder is stored, you can recover the folder and its associated database after you recover the server. If you use the Backup Exec Intelligent Disaster Recovery Option (IDR Option) to recover the media server, you must recover the deduplication storage folder using the following procedure. The IDR Option does not recover the deduplication storage folder or its associated database during the recovery of the media server.

When you restore a deduplication storage folder, the original folder and its associated database are deleted and then replaced by the restored folder and database.

Note:

You cannot redirect the restore of a deduplication storage folder. A deduplication storage folder must be restored to its original location.
