See the Microsoft SharePoint documentation for more information about lists and list items.

  • Configuration database.

A configuration database contains all of the configuration information for the entire SharePoint Server farm. Use caution when restoring this database. Any changes that you make to the farm topology before you restore from the backup are lost. The configuration database can only be restored to its original location.
