Graph options for custom reports

You can select to include either a pie or bar graph in a custom report. After you select the graph type, you can select specific options for the graph.

The following table describes the available pie graph options:

Description

Category field (pie section per value)

Specifies the field for which you want to display sections in the pie chart.

Data field

Specifies the field for which you want to calculate values.

Aggregation function

Selects the way that you want Backup Exec to calculate the values generated for the Data field.

Choices include the following:

  • Minimum. Calculates the lowest value. This is available for numeric fields only.

  • Maximum. Calculates the highest value. This is available for numeric fields only.

  • Average. Calculates the average value. This is available for numeric fields only.

  • Count. Calculates the number of values. This option is the only available option for non-numeric fields, such as text fields or date fields, but it is also available for numeric fields.

  • Sum. Calculates the sum of the values. This is available for numeric fields only.

The following table describes the available bar graph options:

Description

Vertical axis title

Specifies the title that you want to display to the left of the graph. The title will display vertically in the report. There is a 50-character limit.

Series field (bar per value)

Specifies the field that contains the values that you want to display on the horizontal bars of the graph. Backup Exec creates a legend for the values.

Category field (set of series bars per value)

Specifies the field that contains the information for which you want to group information along the left side of the graph.

Data field

Specifies the field for which you want to calculate values.

Horizontal axis title

Specifies the title that you want to display below the graph.

Aggregation function

Specifies one of the following functions to calculate the values generated for the Data field.

Choices include the following:

  • Minimum. Calculates the lowest value.

  • Maximum. Calculates the highest value.

  • Average. Calculates the average value.

  • Count. Calculates the number of values. This option is available only for non-numeric fields, such as text fields or date fields.

  • Sum. Calculates the sum of the values.
